Many people feel that the best cardio workout they can get is typically through distance running or biking. When in the gym they find it easiest to get on a treadmill and set the time or get on a stationary bike and peddle for a certain distance. These are both good choices for cardio workouts yet sometimes leave a person feeling “unchallenged.” When Interval Training is implemented you gain a whole different level of cardio workout.
Interval training is a method used in our fitness boot camp and is extremely challenging for participants. By using drills such as short sprints, high stepping, lunging, various squat motions, crab walking, and jump squats with push-ups your heart rate elevates and for 60 seconds you just about feel like you ran your entire 30 minutes on the treadmill. Boot camps are not the only scenario for implementing interval training into your fitness regimen. A Certified Personal Trainer can add this into your current routine if your fitness level and health allows. If you are interested in finding out more about interval training and if this training is right for you, contact Shandra Milstein and Corvallis Fitness Adventures, LLC via email at outdoorfit@comcast.net.
