<p>If you wanted to lose 20lbs this year &#8211; are you down 5lbs already?<br />
If your goal was to do 250 workouts &#8211; have you completed 62 ?</p>

<div>It&#8217;s amazing how time passes so quickly. If you need a &#8220;do-over&#8221; then I&#8217;m going to give you one.</div>

If your goal is <a href="http://www.alwyncosgrove.com/musclegrowth" target="_blank"><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>muscle building</strong></span></a>- start today<br />
If your goal is <strong><em>(insert anything here)</em></strong> &#8211; start<strong> TODAY !</strong></p>

<p>25% of this year is gone forever. Will you make changes <strong>TODAY</strong> or will another 25% pass, then another 25% &#8212; and before you know it &#8212; it&#8217;s 2013&#8230;..</p>
<p>I meet a lot of people in my job, and get a lot of questions via email. I&#8217;ll talk to folks who track every single spec of food that passes their lips, and have tried just about every program out there. When I ask them how things are going &#8212; they&#8217;ll tell me that it&#8217;s great, or that the program is working well.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>However, very few people actually <em>measure</em> and take stock of their efforts. If you are following a plan to lose fat &#8211; are you actually <em>losing </em>fat? And I mean at a rate that is acceptable for your efforts? Or are you blindly following a plan that doesn&#8217;t work, and essentially ignoring that?</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Is your body feeling good or does it feel exhausted, sore, injured and then some. Look at your current goals, are these goals causing you harm. It could be your nutrition, not getting enough calories, enough nutrients from protein and carbohydrates. ***Some soreness is normal after a good challenging workout but days and days of just feeling exausted and unmotivated is NOT!!!</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>It could be a sport you are training for, is your body telling you to scale back because your current program is pushing you too far too fast?? Scale the miles down for a week or two then add again, not every program is perfect for every single BODY <img src='http://www.corvallisfit.com/wordpress/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' />  Listen to your body, listen and ask questions and above all do not be afraid to do what is good for YOU even if that means making a new plan.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Start again, it is OK. Set SMART goals for yourself, START AGAIN I SAY!!  Don&#8217;t look back and  judge, look forward and find ways to move forward!!!</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>S</strong> – specific, significant<br />
<strong>M</strong> – measurable, motivational<br />
<strong>A</strong> – attainable, achievable, acceptable<br />
<strong>R</strong> – realistic, relevant, reasonable, rewarding, results-oriented<br />
<strong>T</strong> – time-based, timely, tangible</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>25% of this year is over, start fresh, start feeling good or at least make a plan to start feeling better!!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>We did it! Once again <a href="http://www.corvallisfit.com/contact/">Corvallis Fitness Adventures</a> assembled a team of hearty, dedicated folks to race in the <a href="http://www.llswa.org/site/PageNavigator/BC_homepage">Big Climb</a>. We all trained hard for close to four months and met up in Seattle this past weekend. What a great time and GREAT TIMES by all team members. Fantastic job by everyone on the team by running all the way to the top of the Columbia Center and raising several thousand dollars for Leukemia and Lymphoma Research. It is always worth the hard training to compete and raise money for such a worthy cause. Team member times ranged from 11:45 to 18:30 to complete all 69 floors! Awesome.</p>
<p>Thanks again to all those that not only raced with our team but to those friends and spouses that traveled with us to help out and support the team. We could not have done it without you.</p>

<p>We did it, snow, slush and all! There was no time to get cold this morning unless you forgot your socks or gloves. We did our strength training dumb bell circuits under cover behind the bleachers  then ran out to the snowy (snow globe) track to do our cardio stations around the track.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Everyone that showed up was determined to get through the workout today and at the end enjoyed their accomplishments and sweat!!</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t worry  those that slept in we will do it again!!! If you live far out I completely understand why you did not venture out  before work, I would have done the same if I had to drive that far and back.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Earlier this week, I found this quote  in one of my newsletters and it became an instant favorite of mine…</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>It may have been on the windy and cold side this morning but we still got out there and got the new <a href="http://www.corvallisfit.com/registe">Boot Camp session</a> rolling for March! Great job to all those that showed up and did the &#8220;tune up&#8221; workout. Those planks can sneak up on you if you have laid off of them for a week. Plenty of lunges this morning as well as some great, simple upper body work. We managed to get in all of that core and balance work which will help get your week started on the proper foot. It was great to see everyone after the one week break and we should all be rested and ready to roll!</p>
<p>We have a big event coming up in less than two weeks:  <a href="https://secure3.convio.net/llswa/site/SPageNavigator/BC_homepage">The Big Climb in Seattle</a>!! Many of us have been training hard to once again hit the stairs at the Columbia Center. Should be a great event and a great three day weekend for those joining in. We will stair climb tomorrow morning and also mix in ramp runs in our continued preparation.</p>
<p>Another big event coming up next month is the <a href="http://corvallishalfmarathon.com/">Corvallis Half Marathon</a>! Corvallis Fitness Adventures, LLC is proud to be a sponsor of the event this year. Shandra will be participating in the event and will also be available for question and answer sessions after the race. This should be a fabulous event and we are excited to be one of the sponsors.</p>
