			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Yee Hah! What a way to start the week! We had a great group this morning for our <a href="http://www.corvallisfit.com/outdoor-fitnessboot-camps/">Boot Camp</a> workout at the Corvallis High School Track. Lunges? Did someone say lunges? That was the theme this morning and we did lots and lots of functional fitness exercises combined with lunges up and down the field. Forward and reverse split lunges with overhead presses, curls, upper cuts, and even combined them with squat walks and stationary punches. The legs were burning but what a good burn! Everyone did a fantastic job this morning and the effort was visible on all of those smiling faces <img src='http://www.corvallisfit.com/wordpress/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' />  The temps were perfect at 55 degrees and it made for great workout weather. We utilize stairs, battle ropes, slosh pipes, Tabata intervals, hills, boulders, you name it and we incorporate it into our workouts. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Wow! What a beautiful run we had this morning in and around Chip Ross Park on Dan&#8217;s Trail. Just a gorgeous morning to get up and hit the trails with great people and canine companions. We walked and warmed up as we headed up 29th street and then hit the trail and got in a nice four miles this morning before 6:20 am. Our <a href="http://www.corvallisfit.com/group-hikes/">running group </a>typically meets on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and you do not need to be a competitive runner to come on out and join us for a friendly run. Some of us are training for races in the near future and many are just wanting to get in a little mileage with great company. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Our current <a href="http://www.corvallisfit.com/outdoor-fitnessboot-camps/">Boot Camp</a> is in full swing and our third workout session was this morning at the Corvallis High School track. Interval training was the theme this morning and we woke ourselves up with builders on the football field. We mixed in plenty of strength training, core stability, and of course a great cool down stretching session. What a way to start the day especially since it was not raining! Last night we hit the stairs at the parking garage on the Oregon State University campus. In between each set of 525 steps we worked in plenty of Burpees, Push Ups, walking Lunges, and we used the resistance rings around our ankles for Squat Walks. Talk about a fantastic workout for the glutes and outer hips! Our team for the <a href="http://www.run4oregonwine.com/">Run 4 Oregon Wine Half Marathon </a>continues to grow and we are excited up training for and participating in this sure to be great event! We got in our workouts at the Corvallis High School track, the hills of 29th street, downtown Corvallis waterfront, Oregon State University parking garage stairs, and the stairs of Reser Stadium. We really got the quads burning this week and everyone did a terrific job. Our interval training of sprints, loaded leg exercises, stairs, hill repeats, and dumbbell/resistance band training gave us more than complete all body training over the past five days. Great job everyone!</p>
<p>I am so proud of our Big Climb team members for their fund raising efforts with a month left before the big event. We have more than doubled our fund raising goal which is just phenomenal. What a great feeling to be raising money for such a worthy cause while getting fit, strong, and healthy! 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Spring is here! The flowers are blooming, the days are a little longer, and the heavy coats are being shed during our workouts. What a fantastic time to be involved in an Outdoor Fitness Boot Camp! Last night we did our workout at Martin Luther King Park on Walnut and we concentrated on our quads and then on our hangs. The jungle gym bars are perfect for working on hangs and we compounded them with some great core work. The gentle slope of the road in the park is ideal for &#8216;builders&#8217; and lunges combined with short sprints. Inside the barn we utilized the steps and tables for dips, step-ups, and a whole bunch of other great exercises. What a terrific setting for getting an hour of fitness!</p>
<p>We continue to train for <a href="http://www.bigclimb.org">The Big Climb in Seattle</a> next month and this morning we hit the stairs in the Oregon State University parking garage. We did twenty sets this morning and everyone was on top of their game. We continue to implement the most current stair training techniques using double steps, staggered descent patterns, and a multitude of rail combination&#8217;s.
